No separate budgetary allocation by the Government of India under the much-touted MP Model Village Scheme has come as a cause of concern for those engaged in developing villages as model ones as the first phase of the developmental works in such villages would have to be completed by October 2016. As many as 750 villages have been identified for being developed as model villages under the scheme across the country, said SSS Pangti, CDO, Champawat.
More so, to expedite the development process in the proposed model villages, we have to put online all the developmental proposals that have to be completed in the first phase, by May 25. Subsequently, subject to the approval of the respective MPs, the developmental works would have to be completed by October, 2016 in the first phase, added the CDO, Champawat.
With no budgetary allocation being provided under the MP Model Vlilage Scheme, efforts are being made to arrange funds from other sources, maintained the officials concerned of the Champawat district administration. Since all the developmental proposals have to be sent online by May 25, therefore, the district administration Champawat asked the officials concerned to submit the developmental proposals to the office of the CDO by May 20.
Notably, Rolmale village in Champawat has been identified for its development as model village under the scheme. There are 204 families residing in the village. Among others things, all the major developmental schemes, including Pradhan Mantri Jan-dhan Yojana, cent percent preparation of Aadhaar Cards and voter identity cards, construction of cent percent toilets under the Clean India Campaign, to name a few schemes, would have to be implemented cmandatorily in the proposed model village, the officials maintained.
CDO Champawat stressed on the need to complete all the works related to infrastructure development in the proposed model village on priority basis. He also asked the officials associated with the scheme to give concrete shape to the proposed developmental proposals in a time- bound manner.
