The 16th Annual Sports Meet of Forest Research Institute (FRI) University was inaugurated by its chancellor and director general of the Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE) Shashi Kumar on Tuesday. Addressing the students on the occasion, Kumar advised them that only regular sports activity can make them physically fit and this fitness will make them successful in their careers.
He said that in present era the students are more comfortable with the computers which are not healthy for their life and with this habit they will not get proper sleep. He also recalled how student life was before the advent of computers.
Various indoor and outdoor competitive events are being held with all students including research scholars taking part in this annual sports meet slated to conclude on March 10. FRI director Savita and dean (academic) HS Ginwal also addressed the gathering on the occasion.
