Fraud IAS trainee accused Ruby Choudhary gets bail

Published on:

In a jolt to police, Ruby Choudhary who had allegedly stayed in lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (lBSNAA) premises for close to seven months while posing as an IAS probationer secured bail from session court on Saturday. Stating this, the defence lawyer Rajiv Raturi said the Government pleader had failed to present evidences to adequately substantiate the point why Ruby had stayed there for around seven months clandestinely.  Ruby was arrested on the night of April 3 and was tagged with the charge of staying in the Academy while masquerading as an IAS probationer.

However, State Chief Minister Harish Rawat has rejected the suggestion of the State police in which they had earlier suggested CBI inquiry in this case. SIT which was formed by the State police to crack the Ruby Choudhary case on April 2. It should be mentioned here that the Academy security officer Satyaveer Singh had registered a case under Sections 420/467/468/471 of the IPC against Choudhary in the Mussoorie Police Station on April 2 evening. Ruby was arrested on April 3 night.

Dubbing Ruby Choudhary case as an insignificant one, Chief Minister Harish Rawat said it does not deserve to be handed over to CBI. “The State police should continue with its own probe. There is no need to drag CBI in it. I am sure the State police would unravel the mystery soon,” Notably,  Uttarakhand police had requested the State Government to refer the case to CBI to solve things promptly earlier this May.
