In connection with the gangrape of a woman in Mussoorie, the fourth accused Arjun, who was arrested on Sunday, was sent to jail after being presented in the court on Monday. Dehradun police had recorded the statement of the complainant under section 164 of CrPC before the magistrate.
She said other than Arjun, three including Rewat Singh, a Mussoorie Municipality Government employee and two home guards — Roshan and Jaipal- allegedly involved in the case are behind bars now. The woman complainant had registered a complaint and subsequently a case was registered against unidentified six persons in Mussoorie on Friday, she informed. Police sources said that the woman complainant, native of Siliguri of West Bengal, had reached Mussoorie to meet her friend on Thursday. At library Chowk, 4 persons, sitting in a car, took her to a guest house the same evening. Two bike- borne persons who were following the car also reached guest house where all of them allegedly gangraped her. Rs20, 000 and a mobile phone were taken away from her.
