Four Uttarakhand Provincial Police Service officers -Mukesh Kumar, Dhirendra Singh Gunjyal, Aseem Srivastava and Yashwant Singh- who have been working at various places as Additional SPs in the State have been promoted as IPS officers on Thursday. The promotion was announced by a government order issued by Ajay Kumar Singh, additional secretary, government of India. Direndra Singh Gunjyal is presently working as SP Traffic in Dehradun while Mukesh Kumar is working as SP in-charge, Bageshwar and Yashwant Singh as SP intelligence, regional, Haldwani. Aseem Srivsatna is on the Central government deputation in National Investigation Agency (NIA). Police sources said that the promotion would be followed by the officers being given postings in tune with their new ranks.
