Four buses leave for Char Dham Yatra'

Four buses carrying about 120 pilgrims left for Char Dham Yatra from Rishikesh on Sunday. The Char Dham Yatra will start with the reopening of the portals of Gangotri and Yamunotri shrines in Uttarkashi district on May 7.

President of Rishikesh transport and tourism co-operative association Manoj Dhyani said, “On Sunday four buses have left for Char Dham Yatra. About 120 pilgrims from outside the state travelling in these buses will be staying at Badkot on Sunday night. On Monday they will leave for Yamunotri.”

It is pertinent to mention here that Regional Transport Office has made it compulsory for every bus to have a list of passengers travelling from outside stations to Uttarakhand. This list is to be marked with a unique hologram at the inter-state borders and will be checked at the green card centre in Rishikesh.

This step has been taken by the RTO to make sure that no outside bus can work as a stage carrier in the state.
