Panic prevailed after a snake entered a shop in the Shishmahal area of Kathgodam on Wednesday. However, the forest department snake rescue team managed to capture the reptile and release it in the woods before it could come to any harm.
Soon after the snake entered the shop, the shop owner Salman Saifi informed the Gaula forest range officer Ganesh Chandra Tripathi.
The forest department snake rescue team shortly reached the site and after some effort managed to capture the reptile. The snake was later released in a secure forest area much to the relief of the locals.
It is pertinent to mention here that the snake rescue teams of the forest department have not only prevented snakes from causing damage to humans but have also saved the reptiles from being hurt or killed by people in scenarios when the snakes stray into human habitat and buildings.
