A foreign tourist died in the Nanda Devi national park here while trekking on the Dronagiri-Garpak trek. According to information received from sources, 79-year old Alpa is said to have been from Russia. She is also said to have undertaken a trek to Kunwari pass in the past.
It is being said that the woman died from cardiac failure though the exact cause of death will be known after the post mortem examination. A team of the administration had departed for the site of the incident after receiving information about the same.
