The activity of the team was the talking point among the shopkeepers on the day.

The district food supply officer, Anoj Thapliyal said that the notices were issued to 17 shopkeepers when it was found that their premises are not maintaining proper sanitation and hygiene while preparing the edible items.

It is a common knowledge that the food adulterators and profiteers become active during the festive season of Diwali. To counter them the samples of the food items would be sent to the state drug and food laboratory Rudrapur for testing. The department takes legal action against the offenders based on the report of the lab. Thapliyal informed that the drive against the adulteration in the city would continue.
