The first board meeting of newly elected boards in urban local bodies will be held on December 2. Before the meeting, the newly elected mayors, chairpersons of municipal councils, Nagar Panchayats, councillors of municipal corporations and ward members of the municipal councils and Nagar Panchayats will be administered the oath of office and secrecy.
The State administration additional secretary, Bhupal Singh Manral has written to the commissioners of Garhwal, Kumaon and all the district magistrates to this effect. It will be recalled that the process of election to various posts in 84 urban local bodies of the state was completed on November 22.
After the oath taking and first board meeting on December 2, the newly elected boards of the urban local bodies will officially start functioning.
