It was oomph and X factor galore at the Khali show with the female wrestlers with the Hollywood-like glamour and antics warming the hearts of a predominantly young crowd. The female wrestlers like Katty Forbes, Reene Mitchelle, Santana and Baby Bulbul cast their magic on the youngsters who lustily cheered their every move.
Wild reception was accorded to the female fighters when they entered the ring for women team event. The team of Santana and Reene Mitchelle was challenged by Baby Bulbul and Katty Forbes for the event which was won by the pair of Bulbul and Katty. However it appeared that the youngsters were keener to watch the histrionics and antics of wrestlers particularly Katty and Reene. These female wrestlers also played to the mood of the crowds and performed like actresses straight out of a Hollywood sizzler. Ironically enough these women 'wrestlers' attracted more attention and applause than celebrated folk singer Meena Rana and young singing sensation Pawan Deep who performed in a cultural event which preceded the bouts.
Manish Sharma, a medical representative said, “It is unfortunate that the show had scantily clad women who performed acts bordering on vulgarity. Further foreign wrestlers used abusive language for the local population. It is shameful that state government allowed such violation of values which occurred in public platform”. He further said that patronage was provided by administration to such vulgar activities and added that had such a thing happened in some market place the police would have slapped cases against the violators.
