Farm Bills to make farmers strong: Arvind Pandey

Published on:

Education, Panchayati Raj and Sports Minister Arvind Pandey has said the farmers  are happy with the passage of the Farm Bills from the parliament and the  country is moving forward on the path of self-reliant farming.

He was addressing media persons at Dam Kothi in Haridwar on Saturday. Strongly advocating the bills, the minister said the farmers were forced to sell their produce and not as per their wishes which resulted in a burden of debts on them.

He said under the leadership of Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi the situation is steadily improving in the agriculture sector. Pandey added that the PM has clearly said that in order to become self reliant we should strengthen the economy of the country.

He said after passage of farm bills, the farmers would get the right prices for their produce after decades. “Now the farmer can determine the price for his produce, would be completely free and there would be no middlemen. The small and marginal farmers would get the maximum benefit from these agriculture reforms,’’ he said.

The minister clarified that the Government procurement would continue and now the farmers would have two options without coercion.

Terming these bills as revolutionary, the minister thanked the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that these bills would prove historic and important for farmers.
