Tension prevailed between two communities in Haldwani after dispute arose over the issue of selling of a shop located near Meera Marg on Wednesday.
local resident Ashok Aggarwal got into an agreement over the sale of the shop to another local resident Umer. Umer had paid Rs50,000 to Aggarwal as advance. later Aggarwal refused to sell it as his family members asked him to scrap the deal.
DIG Kumaon PS Sailal said that situation in the area is under control and police have been deployed at sensitive places being put on alert.
The members of two communities have been called for talks with DM and SSP on Thursday evening. Talks were on while the report was being filed.
