With the factional feud gaining momentum within the ruling BJP since the alleged beating of the Haridwar mayor, those loyal to a certain leader are said to be helping the agitators as Gurpreet is known to be close to the senior State cabinet Minister Madan Kaushik.
It is learnt that a BJP leader helped them pitch the tent outside the mall. The same leader is said to have been sent to jail tagged with eve- teasing at the instance of Gurpreet. Observers say that the continuing episode would provide Congress a chance to dent into the image of the ruling party.
