Eye donation awareness camp to be held

A public awareness campaign about eye donation will be launched in the State by the police in coordination with medical colleges, hospitals, schools and other social organisations. 

In regards to this, State DGP BS Sidhu held a meeting with specialist doctors of Dehradun— based hospitals and school authorities and discussed about eye donation in details. 

DGP Sidhu has formed a cell Nayan Jyoti Cell, consisting of eight policemen. After their training in Jolly Grant Hospital, Dehradun they will be deputed in a group of two to convince the families of those who die in the road accidents, for eye donation. 

Currently, eye’s cornea is being grafted in Jolly Grant Hospital, the only Eye bank of the state. Specialist doctors gave their presentation about the same on the occasion.
