Execution of work under Namami Gange mission needs to be expedited, for which committee should be formed at the State and district levels for consistent monitoring of the work.
The Union Minister of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation, Uma Bharti said this in a meeting with Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat on Tuesday. The CM requested the Union Minister that Khadkhadi and Kankhal ghats in Haridwar should also be developed under Namami Gange. Regarding the Pancheshwar dam project, officials informed that the DPR for the same has been prepared. The CM said that work on this project should be expedited with both India and Nepal having a positive stance on it. He directed officials to submitted all necessary applications within the time limit. He requested the union minister that some flexibility be observed in rehabilitation of the project affected in Uttarakhand considering the conditions of the State.
