The examination schedule for back papers for colleges affiliated with Shri Dev Suman University has been announced. The marks improvement exams would start from November 11 and continue till November 17. A consensus was reached about holding the individual exams with Garhwal University.
A meeting of directors and principals of various colleges was held to discuss the issues related to holding of back papers and evening classes in self-financed, government colleges and non-administrated colleges linked with Shri Dev Suman University. It was decided that the exams for improvement of marks would be held from November 11 to November 17.
In view of the problems being faced by the students, the morning shift would be run from 08:00 hrs till 11:00hrs this time. But the time of evening classes would be from 13:00 hrs till 16:00 hrs.A heated discussion took place regarding holding of individual exams for the session 2014-15. later, a consensus was reached about holding individual exams along with the Garhwal university exams.
The answer sheets would be evaluated at centres in Dehradun, Shrinagar and Tehri. Shri Dev Suman University Vice- Chancellor Dr U S Rawat said that the Back paper exams would be held from November 11 for which forms have been sent for 59 centres. The forms would be available for sale from November 1. It was estimated that around 24,000 students would participate in the exams.
The goal has been set for declaring the result by December 20. Running evening classes that has proved a challenge for the colleges also figured in course of the meeting. The evening classes have so far begun at the graduate level only.The classes for post-graduate courses have not started yet. DAV College Principal Dr Devendra Bhasin said that due to the absence of the faculty, the classes could not be started yet. The participants also raised the issue of the amount proposed for the teachers. The amount proposed was considered not much. Besides, the issue of the payment for the teachers not being cleared on time was also raised in the meeting.
