After greeting residents of the State on the formal inauguration of AIIMS Rishikesh, former Uttarakhand Chief Minister BC Khanduri said that the foundation stone of AIIMS was laid down by BJP leader Sushma Swaraj in 2003 and maximum period of three year was set for the completion of the project.
He lamented that callous approach of the Union Government could be easily gauged by the fact that OPD facilities were started after the gap of one decade in the State. He said that two guest houses were also facilitated near AIIMS, New Delhi by the BJP Government during its regime in the State in order to provide lodging facilities to people from Uttarakhand who visit AIIMS New Delhi.
