Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has said that the State Government is all set to constitute a team comprising retired CBI officers to probe grafts and bring to book the accused.

Interacting with the media persons on the sidelines of the launching of Namami Gange project at his residence on Thursday, he said that the move would go a long way in weeding out corruption from the State.

He further said that the State Government is grateful to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for giving budgetary support to the State to facilitate the industries which were established under the industrial package that is valid till 2027. “We are sure that the move from the Centre would dissuade the industrialists who have decided to wind up their units following the  implementation of GST. Now, with the Centre coming to the aid of the state, new industries would come up and new job opportunities would be generated in the State,” CM said.

Talking about the natural calamity that recently ravaged Pithoragarh, the CM said that his Government is working round the clock to help the affected people and to repair the damaged infrastructure.

“With inclement weather continuing, helicopter service is yet to be resumed. However,  we have kept a chopper ready at Dharchula so that it can be used to provide service to the people in case  of emergency.  Meanwhile, national disaster response force (NDRF), Sate disaster response force (SDRF), Indo-Tibetan border police (ITBP), Army and local people are providing relief to the affected people. They are being provided with free accommodation and food as well.  We have been running medical health camp at Malpa and Simkhola where  the locals are being properly checked and given medicines. PWD is busy in repairing the motor roads and the pedestrian roads,” he said.
