In a move to ensure justice to the victim and family of a young woman, who was brutally killed after rape, former Uttarakhand Chief Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank staged one day protest at Dwarka, New Delhi on Saturday.

He also talked to officials at the Prime Minister’s Office and Home Secretary in order to ensure speedy justice. The victim originally hailed from Pauri in Uttarakhand and lived in New Delhi when this unfateful incident took place in February, 2011, when a group of miscreants not only raped the victim but also brutally killed her.

The incident happened when she was returning from her office in Gurgaon. Although a case has been registered at Dwakra police station but no headway has been made in this case so far. Dr Nishank also demanded justice from the Government for the family.

It should be mentioned here that the residents of the locality have also been consistently protesting in support of the demand for justice since the crime was committed.
