Every Govt takes loans and it's natural: CM

Replying to the media query Chief Minister Harish Rawat categorically said that to give boost to the development work in the State, every Government takes loans and this is natural process of governance.

Not only Uttarakhand but every State and Union Government arranges money through loan as well and we have followed RBI norms while seeking loan. Now state has gained status of fast developing states categories.

Uttarakhand’s per capita income is more than Rs 1.54 lakh and it is higher than the national average. We have received loss due to 14th finance commission’s recommendation. We have not received any fund for Ardh Kumbh and we did not receive any money from Union Government for the last two years. We have been executing all work by using our own resources so we have been imposing tax without putting burden over the common man. Junk food, which are injurious for health, have been brought under tax regime. To give solace to the farmers, who have been craving due to drought, we have been postpone our Revenue or irrigation tax. Even we have waived off surcharge of electricity.

To conduct thorough probe high court has constituted Justice Irshad Hussain committee, who will conduct judiciary inquiry on the issue of Nari Niketan, it is necessary for the dignity of women. Even we have asked our state women commission to submit their report as soon as possible. If anyone found guilty then they would be treated with devil boot.

Regarding the documentary, which is being made by popular singer Kailash Kher on Kedarnath rehabilitation, CM said that to publicise Kedarnath we have been seeking the help of noted singer and musician. He is not associated with any political party. BJP led government had hired their national vice president in Sparsh Ganga Abhiyan and even they had made payment for this. Even today Ma Ganga did not receive any positive effect on it.
