The district administration Champwat has expressed concern over the poor pace of developmental works and diversion of the district plan funds to other projects.
Stressing on the need to ensure timely utilisation of the funds on developmental projects, Deependra Kumar, District Magistrate, Champwat, has asked the officials concerned to ensure timely utilisation of the funds while maintaining quality of the works.
Expressing his disappointment over the slow- paced developmental works, Kumar said that this year, the funds under the district plan have been released in a single installment. Yet, the pace of utilisation of funds is far from satisfactory. Carelessness on the part of the officials concerned in carrying out developmental works will not be tolerated, Kumar warned.
On the issue of diversion of funds to other projects from the district plan, the District Magistrate Champawat said that cases of diversion of funds from district plan to other projects have come to light. But the officials concerned are supposed to utilise the funds under the same head and that too in a timely manner.
More so, the officials concerned will also have to avoid the tendency of spending funds towards the fag end of the financial year as has been noticed. Rather, they are supposed to utilise the funds in a timely manner so that developmental works could be completed on time, the district administration, Champawat, told the officials concerned.
At the same time, it also directed the officials concerned to complete the projects which are pending from the previous financial year soon. End.
