FIR against the executing agencies will be lodged if they are found digging roads without prior permission from District Magistrate, said Dehradun DM Dr BVRC Purushottam while interacting with the officers of Peyjal Nigam, Jal Sansthan and others at Collectorate on Thursday. He warned that short supply of drinking water in any part of the city will not be tolerated at any cost.
In order to ensure proper supply of potable water in the city, the DM has relieved the executive engineers of Jal Sansthan from election duty
till May 5. Apart from sanitation, supply of water and power are the essential amenities which should be provided to the public, he stressed.
The power corporation officers were directed to ensure regular supply of power to the residents in the state capital. Jal Sansthan officers may need to dig the roads for completing repair works of pipelines in order to supply drinking water adequately.
Except this work, any other executing agency like Municipal Corporation, Public Works Department, MDDA, Jal Nigam, telephone or mobile companies will not be allowed to dig the roads without prior permission from DM, he added.
Due to scorching heat and election season, no new repair works or new projects will be initiated till parliamentary elections end in the district.
Purushottam also directed the Upper Mukhya Nagar Adhikari to review disposal of garbage and its service charges with the officials concerned on daily basis and inform him periodically.
