In order to facilitate free and fair conduct of Doiwala Assembly by-poll, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has appointed Sameer Kumar Jha as the election expenditure observer. To review the preparation, Jha convened a meeting with the district election officials at the Collectorate on Saturday and directed the officials who have been deputed on election duty to complete their assigned work on time.
Jha directed them to take all possible measures for peaceful conduct of Doiwala Assembly by-poll in the district. The police officers were directed to be vigilant to check distribution of money and liquor to lure the voters during election.
The election officials face any problems while executing election related work should inform district election officer Chandresh Kumar Yadav directly. The meeting was attended by nodal officers of video vigilance team, statistics team, video viewing team, election expenditure team, media monitoring and certification team.
Moreover, the district election officer has established a control room at Doiwala tehsil and one can register election related complaint by dialing 0135-2695888 and observer’s phone number 7579213718. Among those present on the occasion were Dehradun senior superintendent of police Ajay Rautela, deputy election officer Sonika, additional DM Pratap Singh Shah, SDM and Assistant returning officer PC Dumka, chief treasury officer Jagat Singh Chauhan and other district officials.
