Despite the fact that campaigning through loud speakers and rallies at every nook and corner of the capital city has been witnessed for the last one week ahead of civic polls, residents too have benefited from the campaigns as several areas of the capital city witnessed repairing of roads, which were in bad shape for months.
Additionally, the problem of potable water has also been overcome by the councilors, especially in the remote areas of the district. After considering the plight of residents, local bodies elections and the authorities concerned have pulled up their socks for repairing the roads across the capital city.
The roads that were full of potholes due to sewage construction work and potable water pipelines in different wards of the city were repaired just two days ahead of polling.
The nodal agency responsible for bringing the project to ground level had missed deadlines on several occasions causing great inconvenience to the residents as debris and pebbles could be easily noticeable in the different parts of the capital city. The civic polls have come as a respite for the residents as roads were repaired overnight at different wards of the MCD.
Among the areas where roads were repaired include Rajpur road, Vidhan Sabha road, Chak Shah Nagar, EC road, Dalanwala etc.
