Members of the Muslim community celebrated the festival of Eid-ul-Fitr with enthusiasm in different parts of the State on Tuesday. In the State capital Dehradun, thousands of Muslims offered Namaz at the Eidgah.
In Pauri district the occasion was celebrated with multitudes attending the namaz at the Eidgah in Pauri.
Apart from this, members of the Muslim community from different parts of the State participated in the Eid namaz at Srinagar, Kotdwar and other places of the
district.
In Kotdwar nearly 2500 Muslims attended the Eid namaz in the local mosque while about 3000 Muslims participated in the Namaz at the Eidgah in Pauri town.
Thousands of Muslims attended the Namaz held in Srinargar. It is worth mentioning here that Pauri district has been considered to be an example of communal harmony for decades now with followers of various religions commemorating each others’ festivals.
