In order to boost admission in the government-run schools and the government- aided schools, the state education department is all set to hold an admission fortnight from April 1.
Under the theme of ‘Government School- Happy School,’ every primary school has been instructed to make the people aware of the special advantages to be accrued from having the children admitted at the government-run and aided schools.
Besides, the Anganwadi workers have been instructed to prepare a list of the students of such schools, especially those who have passed out from class 5 and 8.
The parents of these children would be given suggestion for admitting their wards in the government schools for their higher studies, sources privy to the department said.
‘Mission Koshish’ would also be started in April.
Under the scheme, the teachers would guide the students especially in the subjects in which they are weak as per their result in the previous classes. Besides, the basic learning like additional, subtraction, reading, writing and the like would be imparted to every student.
The education department officers further said that in order to make studies more interesting and to help the students relax from pressure of the studies a break period would be introduced for the students from the upcoming academic session in all the government-run schools. The director of State Institute of Education Management and Training Uttarakhand (SIEMAT) Seema Jaunsari said that a review meeting on the matter would be conducted once in three months.
