Edu dept has no control on State private schools

Published on:

The education department is regularly rebuffed by the private school owners but in absence of any power the department haplessly watches regular non observation of its orders.

It is worth mentioning here that most private schools located here are having affiliations with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) or Indian Council of Secondary Education (ICSE).

The education department has very little control on the functioning of these schools affiliated with the central boards.

In cases of the violation of its orders the education department sends show cause notices to the schools and gives a time period of one month to reply the notice; the issue normally settles with the reply of the school. Interestingly many big schools do not care to even send a reply to the notice of department. The education department does have some powers under the RTE, but the officials fail to take action as these schools have connections with high and mighty.
