After the recent withdrawal of financial and administrative powers related to the Solid Waste Management (SWM) project from the Mukhya Nagar Adhikari, Ashok Kumar at Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) due to his apathetic attitude towards the execution of the JNNURM funded project, the Doon Valley Waste Management (DVWM) company has started construction of the waste processing plant located at the Sheeshambada area on Tuesday.
The DVWM CEO Siddharth Jain informed, “We always wanted to continue the SWM project in the state capital but were unable to do so due to the stance adopted by the MNA.” Jain expressed hope that the sanitation work would now be undertaken smoothly with the MNA out of the picture.
