‘Erroneous expenses report has been presented'
The Doon Valley Waste Management (DVWM) company is trying to fool officials of the Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) in the name of expenses being incurred on the sanitation works in the State capital, maintained Mukhya Nagar Adhikari at MCD, Ashok Kumar, on Tuesday.
Prior to the scheduled meeting on Wednesday with the Principal Secretary, Urban Development, MH Khan, Kumar asked the company officials to submit a complete detailed report of their monthly expenses including the monthly payment by the company to its employees, money spent in the workshops and other related expenses.
The company has presented the report with a sum of around Rs 36 lakh as its monthly expenses, which according to the MNA is erroneous.
As per the company report, DVWM is spending around Rs 24 lakh on salary to its employees on monthly basis while according to MCD calculations, the total monthly expense of the company is only Rs 22 lakh in which Rs 12 lakh is spent on the monthly salaries of the employees and Rs 10 lakh on expenses like vehicle maintenance and others.
Criticising the erroneous report of the DVWM, Kumar said that the company has also provided wrong details of the number of employees they have deployed and about the number of equipment.
The company has half the number of employees it has mentioned in the report, said Kumar. He also stated that, the company is earning around Rs 55-60 lakh extra per month from the total 80,000 houses and 30,000 commercial buildings of the town.
They are also taking extra user charges from people in many wards, claimed Kumar. Meanwhile, an officer of DVWM on condition of anonymity revealed that MCD officials are only assuming the total monthly expenses and the expenses can't be calculated on the basis of assumption or without any proof. He said that MCD should form a committee to ascertain the actual details about the company and should not blame it without concrete basis.
