Buoyed by the State High Court’s rejection of the PIl seeking a CBI enquiry into controversial Fl2 plan for the sale of foreign liquor, Chief Minister Harish Rawat’s media in-charge Surendra Kumar advised the BJP to do penance through drinking the sin-cleansing water of Holy Ganga.
Kumar alleged that a frustrated BJP had been raking up the Fl-2 issue with a sinister motive to bring back the liquor syndicate back to the stage.
“The sting CD is part of the ‘black game’ initiated at the behest of the liquor mafia who had enjoyed heyday during the BJP regime. They must apologise now with the State’s High Court having upheld the State Government’s policy on the matter,” he said.
Without naming the BJP MPs while making it clear who his targets were, Kumar said these people had proved worthless in the Parliament. “They fear to raise issues pertaining to the State they represent. Now, to cover their failure, they are raking up these issues as dilatory tactics,” he said.
Dubbing BJP as a party under siege from within, he said their Governments in several States were facing graft charges. “Some saffron leaders have flayed the Centre’s policy on Jammu & Kashmir and Punjab,” he said.
He appealed to the MPs from the State to be vocal in the Parliament to bring some package for Uttarakhand from the Union Government. “If you sweat in Delhi the same way you are now doing in Dehradun the State would prosper,” he said.
