The Medical Superintendent (MS) of the associated hospital of Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) Dr KK Tamta has been reappointed as Secretary of the purchase committee of the hospital. The Principal of the GDMC, Dr Pradeep Bharati Gupta had removed Dr Tamta from the post recently.
This step was resented by Dr Tamta as he took the matter to the Government asking it to intervene. On Thursday, the Principal reverted his order and reinstated Dr Tamta. When contacted Dr Tamta accepted that he has received the orders of the Principal. He said that appointment of head of department of medicine on the post of Secretary of the purchase committee and relegating the MS of the hospital as only member did not made sense and amounted to creation of confusion.
The Principal who is the chairman of the purchase committee had earlier removed Dr Tamta and appointed the HOD of department of medicine Dr KC Pant to the post.
