Dozens of encroachments in Transport Nagar demolished

Dozens of encroachments were demolished in Transport Nagar by the Mussoorie Dehradun  Development Authority on the second day of its drive on Thursday.

A woman with children occupying one of the illegal constructions has been two days to vacate on her own, said the MDDA secretary Prakash Chandra Dumka, while adding that the other encroachments have been removed. It will be recalled that earlier this month Chief Minister Harish Rawat had made an announced visit to various places in Dehradun including the Transport Nagar. Pulling up officials for encroachments, he had directed officials to ensure that space allotted to transporters for their office should not be used as a godown.

Acting on the CM’s instructions, the authority demolished more than two dozen pucca and kuccha constructions encroaching on land in Transport Nagar.
