To ensure 100 per cent attendance of teachers in Government schools, the District Magistrate (DM) of Dehradun, Chandresh Yadav has ordered District Education Officers (primary and
secondary) and Block Education Officers (BEO) to send the record of attendance of teachers in their areas to Chief Education Officer (CEO) everyday via email from October 2. The DM said this while addressing a review meeting of Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) at his office on Wednesday.
Expressing grave concern over growing cases of absenteeism among the teachers of Government schools due to which the quality of education is deteriorating, Yadav said that strict actions would be taken against those teachers who are found absent without intimation.
He asked the CEO to give him a weekly report of the status of the absent teachers and the action initiated against them. Yadav expressed his unhappiness on the slow pace of construction activities in the schools of the district. He ordered that the work tenders for construction of buildings of Government Inter College (GIC) Koti , Bhaniawala and schools of Chakrata should be floated in a week’s time.
He added that no compromise with construction quality should be made and advised that construction should be based on column and beam pattern. He said that the construction should be such that new stories can be added to the buildings in future. Yadav said that it should be ensured that every school should have a playing field.
He said that the teachers employed on contractual basis should also be provided regular departmental trainings. The meeting was attended by CEO SP Khali, Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Jharna Kamthan, ADM Pratap Shah and other officials of education department.
