Keeping in view President Pranab Mukherjee’s visit in the convocation ceremony of University of Petroleum and Energy studies (UPES), Dehradun DM R Meenakshisundaram convened a meeting to review the security preparation on Saturday.
He categorically instructed them that dereliction of duty will not be tolerated in any circumstances. Departments were asked to complete their work, whichever assigned to them, within time frame. BSNl officials were asked to make sure broadband connectivity at Jollygrant and Bidholi helipad and provide telephone connection along with computer, printer, fax and internet in safe house. Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Finance & revenue was asked to collect minute to minute information about the president visit from Rajbhawan.
He also instructed them to build safe house at jolly grant airport, UPES helipad and programme venue and nearby the venue of the convocation ceremony. He also asked PWD and National Highway officials to repair the road in between Jolly grant to Bidholi. For this he instructed PWD executive engineer to make sure execution of DM order on ground. UPCl officials were asked to make sure unhindered power supply during president visit and submit power supply certificate in and around programme venue to the district administration 24 hour in advance. He also water supply department to repair damage to avoid discontinuation of water supply.
He instructed police official to make available fleet of vehicle during president visit and make sure functional safe house. UPES officials were asked to make sure 20 seats reserved in front row for officials who come along with president. He also asked them to build helipad as per the required measurement under the guidance of PWD executive engineer. He also asked them to prepare invitation card in different colour as per the category and identify the place for parking and make arrangement of passes as well. To assess the ground situation he along with other official concern will visit the university on Monday.
Other dignitaries including joint magistrate Ranjana Verma, Chief development officer (CDO) Sushil Kumar, ADM Finance Jharna Kamthan, SP City Jagdish Chandra, city magistrate harak singh rawat, SDM City Ramji Sharan, SDM Rishikesh HS Martolia, SDM Vikasnagar Ashok Pandey, Executive engineer PWD CM Pandey, Chief health officer Dr Gurpal Singh, District Information officer (DIO) Ajay Mohan Saklani and UPES director Arun Tand were present during the meeting.
