Dehradun Police has seized Rs 12 lakh cash from a local property dealer Tofiq Ahmed, who failed to produce necessary documents of cash, at Asharodi in Clement Town area in Dehradun on Saturday
Ahmed was coming from New Delhi, said Clement Town Police Station in-charge VS Gusain on Satruday. Police have informed the Income tax officer for further verification. As per Election Commission of India’s guidelines, a person carrying Rs 10 lakh and more should carry relevant documents otherwise their cash would be seized by the police. later the matter will be refferred to IT official, he added.
