The Federation of city buses of Dehradun has accused the traffic police of targeting the city bus operators and unduly harassing them. The President of the federation Vijay Vardhan Dandariyal said that the traffic police are especially targeting the city buses plying in the clock tower area and illegally slapping penalties on them. The CPU is also harassing the bus operators. Giving an example of police high headedness, Dandariyal said that penalty was slapped on city bus number UP30A6145 on November 21 last year and the Driving license of the driver was confiscated. The same vehicle was again penalized on December 01, 2016 and the Registration Certificate was taken away. On December 26 again this same vehicle was targeted. Dandariyal claimed that this time the permit was taken by CPU Sub Inspector Amit Chauhan. He further claimed that four days later this vehicle was seized by same officer. The vehicle was parked in police line. Dandariyal said that the above mentioned vehicle was seized without any legal authority. He informed that bus stands in dilapidated condition at police lines, its door are open and some of the parts are missing. Dandariyal said that the police personnel are using the vehicle as hanger to dry their clothes and its seat covers are torn. He said that the owner of vehicle Rajesh Bahuguna would face financial losses due to illegal seizure of the vehicle and the federation would take legal action against the traffic police for this loss
