Doon admin asks two doctors to vacate houses

Published on:

The Administration of the Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) hospital here has ordered two doctors to vacate the houses provided to them. These doctors are staying in these houses despite having been transferred from the hospital.  The Medical Superintendent (MS) Dr K K Tamta said that Dr Bharati Rana and Dr Mukesh Sundariyal have been asked to vacate the residences in the hospital campus. He said that these houses would be provided to the emergency medical officers.

It is worth mentioning here that Dr Bharati Rana is now working as state immunization officer in the state directorate of medical health and family welfare while Dr Sundariyal was transferred from Doon hospital to Prem Nagar hospital last year. The hospital campus has residential facilities for only 12 senior doctors. Recently the state government has appointed four new Emergency Medical Officers (EMOs) and considering shortage of official houses providing accommodation to these EMOs is one of a problem for the hospital administration.
