Garhwal MP and ex-CM Maj Gen Bhuwan Chandra Khanduri categorically said he does not want to become Governor of any State. "I cannot as the people of Garhwal have elected me to serve them. I would love to serve them as their representative," he said.
This denial mode of the MP has, however, confirmed that he had been offered gubernatorial assignment. Political analysts are of the opinion that as long as Gen Khanduri is active in the mainstream politics, the Harish Rawat-led Congress Government in Uttarakhand would sail safe. "When he would be eased out of the State politics, other BJP leaders would pounce upon the State Government with vengeance," one of them said.
