Nainital Police have arrested the domestic help who was absconding after murder of his landlady in Haldwani. The gory act of murder was caught in the CCTV camera placed inside the house. Police arrested the domestic help Santosh from the Indira Nagar area of Haldwani on Sunday morning.
When contacted over phone, the CO Haldwani, Rajendra Singh Hyanki told The Pioneer that the five teams of police were involved in a hunt to nab the culprit. He said that Santosh had confined himself near the railway station ever since he absconded after murder of his landlady. “We have booked case under section 302 of IPC and are relieved to solve the case within two days,’’ Hyanki said. After his arrest Santosh has told the police that he wanted to teach the maid of the house, Reena a lesson as she use to constantly harass him over domestic works and complain the owners who invariably use to take her side. On Friday, he attacked Reena with kitchen knife. In the commotion the maid ran to bathroom and locked herself in. When the lady of the house Uma came to the rescue of maid, Santosh hit on her head with a rod which proved fatal. Santosh fled from the spot after the murder. The police teams were rushed to his native village in Nathuwakhan in Naintal and Delhi in the pursuit of fugitive.
The sensational murder of Uma Kansal (46) occurred on Friday afternoon. The owner of the house, Pankaj Kansal runs a medical store in Haldwani. At the time of incident only Uma was in house along with two domestic helps. The attack on the maid and the murder of the land lady was recorded in the CCTV camera installed in the house. The video of the murder went has gone viral on the You Tube.
