Political parties will have to inform about the cost of publicity materials that they are going to use during campaign to the District Election Officer and members of the media certification and monitoring committee.

More so, the representatives of the different political parties will have to seek permission three days in advance for installing publicity materials like hoardings, said officials of the Almora district administration.

Political parties won’t be allowed to use public properties including Government buildings, telephone and electricity poles, roads, trees inside the Government property etc for publicity purpose, said Vinod Kumar Suman, District Magistrate, Almora, while directing officials concerned on Monday to take necessary measures to strictly implement the guidelines of the Election Commission of India in this regard. The members of the different political parties would have to seek prior approval of the landlord for using private properties for publicity purpose, Suman further said and advised them further to strictly follow the guidelines laid down by the ECI.
