In wake of the increased patient load on the registration and billing counters due to the merger of Doon Hospital and Doon Women hospital into the associated hospital of Doon Medical College (DMC), the hospital management has decided to increase the number of counters.
The Principal of DMC, Pradeep Bharati Gupta said that now six registration and six billing counters would be at the service of the patients in the hospital. The biggest hospital of the state has four registration and three billing counters at present. Gupta informed that three registration counters would be for women and three for men in the OPD of the hospital. He added that the software of the billing needs to be changed and it would take at least a week’s time to get rectified.
The less number of registration and billing counters was creating problem for the patients as they had to stand in long queues in front of these counters and most of the times they had to visit the hospital again to get the pathology tests done.
