In a major step which would surely de-congest the highly crowded premises of the associated hospital of the Doon Medical College (DMC) here the hospital authorities have decided to provide underground parking facility. The work in the underground parking is almost complete and the hospital administration has decided to hand over the facility to general public soon.
The Principal of DMC, Dr Pradeep Bharati Gupta said that the new parking space would be opened by April 20. He said that the facility can accommodate more than 200 two wheelers at a time.
Dr Gupta said that underground space would be used exclusively to park two wheelers. He expressed hope that the normally congested hospital campus would wear a better look after the inauguration of this facility.
It is worth mentioning here that the patients had to undergo a tormenting time to park their vehicles in the hospital. The construction of Indira Amma Canteen inside the campus had added to the woes of the patients and their relatives.
