Making it clear that he would not brook any casual attitude of the officers towards the public hearings launched by himself, Dehradun District Magistrate SA Murugesan decided to withhold one-day salary of three district officers who gave Monday’s public hearing a miss. The three officers are the district panchayatraj officer, executive engineer PWD and executive engineer minor irrigation.
Meanwhile, 34 complaints had been received from the common people during the public hearing- started by the Murugesan- being held at the Collectorate on each Monday since November 20 last.
DM had heard out the grievances of the people related mainly to municipal corporation, revenue, Jal Sansthan, public works department, social welfare, power, transport, police, ADB and PMGSY during the hearing.
He said that the officers concerned must turn up at such hearings without fail for this is the platform for the people to present their concerns for redressal.
Among others who had attended the public hearing were chief development officer GS Rawat, additional DM Arvind Pandey, SDM Sadar Pratyush Singh and district development officer Pradeep Pandey.
