The district administration, Bageshwar, has directed the officials concerned to maintain law and order in the district.Reviewing the law and order situation of the district and progress of various developmental works on Wednesday, BS Manral, District Magistrate, Bageshwar, said that to effectively counter the criminal activities in the district, it is imperative to keep an eagle-eyed vigil on the anti-social elements across the district.
He also directed the enforcement agencies to pay special attention to prevent crimes against women and children. At the same time, the Bageshwar district administration stressed the need to maintain patrolling, particularly during the night hours, to stop thefts. He also called upon the police department officials to improve conviction rate so that criminals could be penalised. “It is thus urgent to take the cases to their logical conclusions,” added the District Magistrate, Bageshwear.
The district administration, at the same time, has stressed the need to check overloading and maintain smooth transport services in the district.Sale of illicit liquor is a matter of serious concern. Therefore, the officials concerned of the excise department are supposed to curb sale of illicit liquor in the district, said the district administration Bageshwar.Besides, the district administration Bageshwar also asked respective SDMs of the district to work out all the illegally occupied Government land cases and to ensure speedy disposal of the cases pending in different local courts in the district.
