DM meets officers, citizens to discuss I-Day preparations

Officiating district magistrate Sonika held a meeting  to fix the programmes for Independence Day at district  headquarters Pauri on Friday.Aside from the district level officers, prominent citizens of the town attended. Sonika asked all to participate in the flag-hoisting programme to be held in the premises of the Collectorate.

It was decided that the students of educational institution will stage Prabhat Fehri in the morning on 15 August and NCC cadets will conduct march past on the occasion.

The flag hoisting will be held in all Government, semi- Government and educational institutions at 9 am and the heads of department and institutions will unfurl the tri-colour.The public flag hoisting will be held in the premises of Pauri Collectorate  at 9.30 am and the employees of different departments should attend it, Sonika said.

She directed the chief medical officer to arrange distribution of fruits in Pauri District Hospital, Joint Hospital Srinagar and Kotdwar and the leprosy centre of the district.  She  also directed divisional forest officer  to arrange a  suitable place for the plantation on the occasion of Independence Day.The municipal board will perform the cleanness drive of the town to mark the day. Many programmes, including sports and cultural events, will be hosted. Sonika directed all department officers to have their offices illuminated   on the intervening night of 14 and 15 August.
