In view of the scheduled Dehradun visit of President Pranab Mukherjee on July 10, the additional district magistrate Dehradun Arvind Pandey met the district officers at the colectorate on Wednesday and gave them necessary instructions.
Pandey has assigned works to the district officials of various departments like Municipal Corporation, forest, power and PWD to complete the preparations within the fixed time frame. The Municipal corporation officials were directed to improve sanitation on VVIP’s routes and place where the President would stay. Forest department officers were directed to ensure necessary lopping or cutting of trees or bushes. Power department officers were directed to ensure smooth power supply at the place where the VVIP would stay. PWD officers were directed to fill the potholes and repair the roads through which the President’s cavalcade would pass.
Besides, a contingency plan has been made via roads from Jollygrant to Rajpur Road in case of heavy rainfall in the city. The health department officers were directed to make fool proof arrangements of medical services at Jolly Grant and Ashiyana where the President would stay while jal sansthan officials have been directed to ensure adequate drinking water facilities at the venue.
District police have been directed to draft traffic plan and ensure foolproof security at Ashiyana. Transport officers were directed to arrange adequate number of vehicles for the visit.
