In view of President Pranab Mukherjee’s scheduled Uttarakhand visit from September 27 to September 30, Dehradun DM Ravinath Raman chaired a meeting with the district officers on Thursday during which he instructed the officials to complete arrangements related to the same. President Mukherjee is proposed visit Kedarnath, Rajbhawan and Har-ki-Pauri, Haridwar during the time he would be in the state.
All the department officers were directed to complete their assigned works by September 20. No agencies or departments will be allowed to dig roads in Dehradun city, Rishikesh and Haridwar between September 25 and September 30. Action will be taken against the errant officers, state government officials said.
National Highway, Public Works Department, MDDA, Municipal Corporation officers were directed to submit reports regarding the visit to DM office and protocol department.
Dehradun DM stressed on works like repair of roads, installing speed breakers and sign boards being completed in time. Protocol officer was directed to write to BSNl officials with the direction to make arrangements of computer, fax, hotline and others at Jolly Grant Airport, GTC, Helipad, Raj Bhawan and Aashiyana.
The power officers were directed to repair all electricity poles from Jolly Grant to Ashiyana, Dehradun. No wires should be found hanging from the electricity poles at the above places. Damaged electricity pole should be replaced with new one within stipulated time frame.
