In a bid to resume prayers at the Kedarnath shrine after the disaster, which is scheduled to begin by September 11, Rudraprayag district administration has been giving emphasis on rebuilding of infrastructure on a war-footing. This was disclosed by the Rudrapryag DM Dilip Jawalkar while talking to The Pioneer on Saturday.

“Meanwhile, we are busy in construction of a big helipad so that agency concerned will be able to deploy heavy machine in disaster-affected areas of Kedarnath and will be able to rebuild the infrastructure to resume prayers in Kedarnath by September 11. Before this the Government has decided to build pre-fabricated huts for priest or their assisting staffs, so we would be able to bring the construction material by air after building of helipad.”

Around 700 meter damaged road in between Sonprayag to Gaurikund will be resumed shortly. In Sonprayag BRO will build Balley bridge in next two weeks so that we would be able to re-open the Rudrapryag to Gaurikund national highway. A delegation of geologist and revenue officials are busy in survey of 55 villages, which are landlside prone and affected. In which six villages’ namely Amotha, Saudi, baniyani, Purana Deval, Agastyamuni, Vijaynagar and Sargot report they have submitted and remaining villages are being surveyed by them.

During disaster, 48 villages were identified as dangererous for living and now seven more villages have been added into the group. Meanwhile disaster prone villages’ residents were shifted in makeshift by the administration. To extend the vocational education we have made proposal for nursing collge, ANM centre and ITI.

For re-construction of national highway State Government is going to have high level meeting on August 26. In which BRO will make power point presentation of Rishikesh-badrinath and Rudraprayag-Gaurikund national highway actual position after disaster before them. Gaurikund-Kedarnath pedestrial routes are being rebuilt by the PWD.
