The district magistrate of Dehradun Ravi Nath Raman approved the annual budget of Rs95.43 lakh for the year 2015-16 of State mental health institute Selaqui in his capacity as president of medical management committee. A meeting of the committee was organised on Tuesday. The DM also approved budget of Rs4.2 lakh which remained outstanding in last financial year.
The DM undertook a review of the activities of last financial year which included small construction works, approval of salaries of daily wage workers, appointment of X -ray technicians on contract and other infrastructure related works of the institute. He inspected the area near the boundary where encroachers have done some construction.
He directed the SDM to ensure that all encroachments are removed soon. Raman met the inmates of the hospital and got inputs about their health from the psychiatrists Dr J S Bisht and Dr S D Burman. The superintendent of hospital Dr Bisht informed that 30 mentally ill patients are getting treatment at the institute.
